Basic Life Support (BLS) Initial and Renewal Classes

Basic Life Support is the foundation for saving lives during and following cardiac arrest. The American Heart Association BLS Provider CPR/AED Initial and Renewal courses are video-based, instructor-led courses that are designed for healthcare professionals and first responders who need to learn and practice BLS skills. Skills reviewed in this class include: one and two rescuer CPR – for adults, children and infants; team CPR is taught and practiced and choking skills are taught for all populations.  BLS initial classes are scheduled for 4.0 hours and BLS renewal classes are scheduled for 2.5 hours.

  • BLS Initial classes are offered for first time participants or those with expired certifications.
  • Renewal classes are offered for participants who have taken each of the course within two years.
