Babysitter's Training
The American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Course is for participants who are 11-16 years old. This training course is highly regarded with parents of young children and known as a strong national training program. Participants will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care safely and responsibly for children and infants. The learning modules include: resume and basic business insight, leadership skills (encouraging positive behavior and rewards), childcare skills of diapering, feeding children, and bottle-feeding infants. During the class, participants will learn and practice first aid skills, CPR and abdominal thrusts in infants and children.
Each student will receive an infant manikin to interact with during the class. The manikin simulates a 3-4 month old infant with a floppy neck and the size of a 9 month old which is a good experience to understand the needs of an infant.
The class is taught for 6 hours at our Training Center. Two take home resource manuals will be provided for each participant and they will receive an American Red Cross Babysitter’s certification and an American Heart Association CPR and first aid certification. These items are included in the cost of the class.
There is a $25 reschedule fee for no-shows or transferring to a different class with less than 48 hours notice.
