Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

The American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support course is an instructor-led class that emphasizes the importance of high quality team dynamics and clear communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac arrest care for adult populations. In this class, participants practice airway management, cardiac pharmacology and EKG rhythm identification and apply it to simulated code situations.

This course is for medical professionals to practice hands-on simulations to respond to cardiac arrest, bradycardia and tachycardia in emergency situations.  Participants need an advanced medical knowledge in EKG interpretation, cardiac medications and systems of care in an emergency setting. These skills are practiced in small group sessions with simulation stations and medical code case scenarios. An ACLS Provider manual is required to prepare for this course.  The class includes the BLS curriculum and participants will earn a BLS Provider certification card as well as the ACLS Provider certification card with successful completion of all required learning modules.

Rocky Mountain CPR and First Aid holds the ACLS Provider Initial course in a hybrid format. Participants are required to purchase and complete the Heartcode ACLS; which qualifies attendance in the ACLS skills check at our Training Center. This class is 16 hours (12 hours online video based learning and a 4 hours in-person skills check).

The ACLS Provider Renewal course is an 8 hour in-person class with didactic lecture in the morning followed by small group sessions with simulation stations and cardiac code case scenarios in the afternoon.
