Basic Life Support (BLS) Initial and Renewal Classes

The American Heart Associations Basic Life Support course provides the foundation for life saving skills during and following cardiac arrest. These courses are video-based and instructor-led, designed for healthcare professionals and first responders who are required to learn and master BLS Provider skills. Skills reviewed in this course include: one and two rescuer CPR for adults, children and infants; AED use and bag valve mask with team dynamics team and abdominal thrusts to relieve choking is practiced.  BLS initial classes are scheduled for 4.0 hours and BLS renewal classes are scheduled for 2.5 hours.

  • BLS Provider Initial classes are offered for first time participants or those with expired certifications. This class is 4 hours in-person learning.
  • BLS Provider Renewal classes are for participants with a valid and unexpired certification card. This class is 2.5 hours in-person learning.
  • There is a $25 reschedule fee for no-shows or transferring to a different class with less than 48 hour notice.
